   Who Invented Cruise Control?

Cruise control was invented 1948 by Ralph Teetor, a mechanical engineer who was also an inventor. He was also blind, from the age of five. It would be another ten years before cruise control was commercially introduced.

   Was It Blood or Chocolate?

“Psycho” is the 1960 Alfred Hitchcock classic film that features a very popular and well known murder scene. The shower murder of Janet Leigh’s character features blood trickling down a shower drain. But was it blood or was it chocolate? The answer is chocolate syrup.

   What Does ‘Canada’ Mean?

What does the word ‘Canada’ mean? The word comes from the Native American Iroquoian word KANATA, which means settlement or village.

   Broken Hearts Are Real

A “broken heart” is a real medical condition. A tragic occurrence or event can trigger a surge of stress that will cause a disruption in the heart’s normal process. This triggers the pain in question. The severity of the pain determines how long the “broken heart” lasts.

This is very true. I myself know of a man that died of a broken heart

   A Hungry Female Octopus

Beware a hungry female octopus! If a male octopus tries to mate while the female is hungry and not in the mood, trouble awaits him. The female octopus will lure him in, kill him, and then feed on his corpse.

   Which Continent Has No Spiders?

If you have a fear of spiders, your next move should be to move to the continent of Antarctica. Why? Because there are no spiders there. It is the ONLY continent where there are no spiders.

Ethiopia is the only African country with its own alphabet.
It’s also the world’s oldest living alphabets – Ethiopic – and probably one of the longest with its 345 letters.
