Where the stumpburner name came from
« on: January 21, 2013, 08:21:48 AM »

Many years ago here in Wister Ok. Down below the Wister Lake Dam, the state park went to thinning the trees out. They left the stumps. There was 2 or 3 guys built a fire on top off one of them. Ever day they had a fire going. The 2 or 3 grew to a bunch of old timers that had nothing to do. Some times as high as 30 or better. We would all getter around the fire and tell our tells. We would camp out, have fish frys, play horse shoes, and just have fun. This went on for years and when one stump burnt out, we would just move to another one. The state park loved it cause it cleaned up all the old dead wood and they didn't have to dig the stumps out.
The town people started calling us the stumpburners. When I made this forum I named it the stumpburner. A friendly place where we could all getter and tell our tells and just have fun

As you can see there isn't many take part any more. If you want you can start making a lot of post and see if we can get the people posting again.

Dear beast,
Thank you for your kind answer.
It is a pity that elderly people do not show much interest in coming and posting here.
I would like to come to this nice place on a daily basis and communicate with other members.
I have also played some arcade games but I saw your comment in Arcade Info Center that " Orion79 has claimed way too many champions " 0029
So, I stopped and will wait for others to enjoy this section.
I hope you have recovered after your surgery.
Best regards.
