Apple Slaw
« on: January 18, 2013, 11:31:33 AM »
Since I am on a diet I have to put family members on one too.  As I can't afford to pay for separate meals nor have the time or resource to cook two meals at once.  I try to blend my diet with the foods they will eat.

I tried this apple slaw on them it wasn't great as we are used to the regular slaw but it's eatable.

Apple Slaw

1 apple, medium
4 cups cabbage, shredded
1/2 cup  onion, red, chopped
1 bell pepper, green medium
1/2 cup yogurt, vanilla, non- fat
1/2 Tablespoon orange juice
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, ground

Chop apples
Combine all ingredients in a medium sized mixing bowl.  Refrigerate until ready to serve

This recipe came from my Alli website.

The only thing I did different from the recipe, I didn't have yogurt so I used light sour cream as a emergency substitute  and added vanilla to the cream.  It might effected the favor somewhat of the finished product.
