War Soup
« on: December 08, 2012, 05:00:57 PM »
WAR SOUPIt's called War soup, because I heard this was done after Thanksgiving with all the leftovers during the war...Don't ask what war!!!LOL

Cream Sauce: 5 Tblsp butter/ 5 TBLSP flour, mix together real slow on low heat until creamy.
Remove from heat.
Add 12 oz Evap. milk slowly, simmer til boil, then boil 1 minute.
Add small carton heavy whipped cream, and half carton of half and half.
Bell's seasoning to taste, (if you can't get that it's basically, sage, rosemary, oregano, ginger, marjoram, thyme and pepper)
Add about 4 chicken bullion cubes (start with, you can add more).
Add leftover turkey (or chicken)
Add 1/2 bag frozen peas
Simmer 20-30 minutes. You can add stuffing, leftover gravy to taste..
I like garlic bread with it.

Ever time I eat a pea I think of my little son Jamie. He has passed on when he was 27 months old.
We were eating supper one night and he ate ever thing on his plate except his peas. I told him if he took one bite he could get down. He sat there awhile and then took a bite. I told him that was good and he could get down. About a hour later I seen where he was holding his mouth kind of funny. I ask him to spit out what he had in his mouth. He spit the peas out. I gave him a swat on his but.
I never made him eat peas after that. Now that he is gone, ever time I eat a pea I hurt inside
