Posting Problems
« on: June 02, 2009, 10:52:11 AM »
Am I the only one having some posting problems?  Every post that I make the screen starts boucing up and down about mid way through the post.  If I keep typing it will stop but while it does the boucing it is very difficult to see what I am typing.

Mine did that a year or two ago and it was an easy fix, but I can't remember what it was!!

I've had no problems on this site.

Do you have problems on other sites?  Or on other programs such as Word, Works, etc?

I had that problem on Oklahoma Forum.  The Barbara asked Bubbaworld about it and he was able to fix it.  But can't remember what she said was the problem as I deleted that message.

I've never had this problem and have never seen or heard about it before either. I really don't know.

Mine does this while trying to post private messages.  I cleaned my cookies etc and thought it fixed it but it didn't.

I'm living with it.  At least I can get on the site, which is more than I can say for Boardnation most of the time.

And our "tech guy" tries to keep things running smoothly.  If he can figure out something or knows something, he fixes it right.

I just live with it as well.  It's difficult but I can still post.

I emailed Bubba who fixed a similar problem on the Oklahoma Forums recently.  This is his reply.  I hope it means something to someone.

The problem on theokforum.com board was owing to a corrupted MySQL data base.

I do not know what forum software is used as Stumpburners but more than likely it uses a MySQL data base and one or more tables is probably corrupted.

If Stumpburners runs on a normal hosting account and that account uses Cpanel, there's an option built in to Cpanel to repair such problems.

If Stumpburners is run on one of those "free forum" type hosts, then the board operator will probably have to request assistance for the system administrator at the host.

Hope this info is of assistance.

kewl... let me know ... if you want

I'd like to sit and jaw with him and you for a little bit  :D

But I am car-less right now so having to depend on others.  Wish I had a dependable spare car for work, but we'll figure it out somehow.

Life sure gets complicated sometimes.
